Spiritual discernment could be described as common sense on steroids. Neither seem to be particularly prevalent in our social environment.
Make no mistake concerning wisdom and discernment, it only comes from one source—the Holy Spirit.
The ostracized “conspiracy theorists” are as abundant as the sum of incidents of skepticism. Are they really wackos, or are most of them just asking about and investigating inconsistencies?—holes in stories that are propagated as factual accounts? There are some conspiracy theories that seem way-out-there. I would say they are worthy of dismissal, but other accounts deserve scrutiny. Like, if we’re told one plus one doesn’t, necessarily, always equal two, that would earn the first response.
I suppose a flimsy argument can be made using a presumed metaphorical passage in the Bible as “proof” of an exception to the rule (by submitting 1+1=1.) It teaches us that marriage is between one man and one woman. A physical and sacramental union, upon which two become one. A mere axiom to the world, but I would add a caveat—it is spiritually literal, as well. Until death do they part, is the vow. It wouldn’t be the first time that God uses real-life to teach a lesson, by providing a metaphorical and literal example, simultaneously. He can work outside of the laws of physics and time. Nothing is impossible for Him. In His realm, 2 can become 1. After all, God is 3 in 1.
Take, for instance, the references in the Old Testament, when Israel is referred to as a nation. It was actually a term to describe God’s people, His spiritual body of believers—a symbol, if you will. It was also the name God changed Jacob’s name to. There was not a physical nation named Israel. You probably know where I’m going with this, being privy to historical hindsight. Little did anyone expect, a few thousand years later, Israel would be established as the literal nation that it is to this day. That occurred back in 1948. This was a late and primary revelation of prophecy, proclaiming to come to fruition shortly before Jesus’ return. There are other examples of duo realities written about in the good book.
There have been major world news stories—events that leave some people with a curious sense of skepticism. Our Government, public school system and media are unified in an attempt to try to bypass your critical thinking skills, common sense and intuition, to make deductions using your God given gifts.
The use of our senses and knowledge, for the purpose of assessing evidence and truth, are linked to God’s gift of wisdom and discernment, through the Holy Spirit.
(I hesitated referring to the following events to make my point, due to the controversial and sensitive nature of the subjects, hence the lengthy pause in the publication of this essay. I sensed it was not the right time, a year ago, though I can’t give you a confirmed reason why, at this time. Never the less...)
Consider the infamous 9/11 attack on our World Trade Center buildings. Okay. I can visualize eyeballs rolling. Here we go—another nut job/conspiracy theorist’s fallacy. What were your first reactions when you watched the images of the two towers collapsing? I watched it in real time. In my horrified state, my first thoughts after the second tower was struck, I did not expect, nor do I believe were common in the minds of other Americans, at that moment. They were formed by an inaudible voice telling me, “This is an inside job. President Bush and our government are complicit in this evil attack.” WHAT? I know, right? It stunned me! Where did that come from?—I voted for Bush in both of his presidential elections (however, I experienced a little buyer’s remorse, as it turned out.)
Then I saw, what appeared to be, the heads and faces of demons forming from the smoke billowing outward from the burning jet fuel. It was as if someone with the keys to the abyss had used them to unlock the door—setting them free to roam the earth. Ironically, our country’s moral decline accelerated, following that devastating day.
As the surrealistic trauma slowly penetrated and embedded itself in my mind and spirit, I began to pray. Not only for the victims and the numerous things associated with this monumental tragedy, but also for understanding… just where in the world was the source of that silent voice coming from? Not wanting to commit to a belief that it came from a source of truth, I speculated that the voice was that of a demon, or the devil himself. It was a natural assumption, I suppose, considering the visions I saw in the smoke. However, I kept it to myself for many months, because it seemed too diabolical to share. The possibility of that dark scenario, on that mild, sunny, sky-blue day, being reality, let alone speaking to anyone about it, felt ludicrous to me.
To this day, I haven’t dismissed it as a possible reality. One might ask, Why?—because I saw it in real-time, with my own two eyes! It’s that simple. The structures fell—straight downward—not toppling on any side, at any point in their descent. In my minds eye, I would expect to see large sections of the towers falling outward. The top, above impact, didn’t cascade away from the structure—it fell directly inline with the floors beneath. After reviewing the film clips, dozens of times, it just doesn’t look natural in its descent, in my opinion.
The images of the towers collapsing were similar in manner to other buildings which have fallen when they’re targeted for demolition. The method used is called implosion. You’ve probably seen the impressive videos, or films of the process, or maybe you have personally witnessed it. Strategically placed explosives are applied to the structure, in an attempt to direct the descending debris, for the purpose of minimizing the disturbance of the surrounding environment and for greater ease in the removal of the crumbled remains. That was a convenient coincidence.
Without turning to a plethora of post investigative reports, personal accounts of suspicious activity, a physicist’s and other expert’s analyses, let’s keep it simple by using only observation. We all saw it. I marveled, horrifically, at the first tower collapsing in such an orderly fashion. Shortly thereafter, the second tower dropped in the identical manner as the first. I’m thinking… the theory of probability wouldn’t lend itself well to this escapade.
A scholar, I am not, but it does beg questions: What are the odds? Both buildings? In the span of about 30 minutes from each other? I’m just sayin’—what I saw compared to what I’ve been told to believe, seem to be conflicting with each other.
We were told that the weight of the floors above the crash crushed and broke the support of the beams holding the floors below, like a chain reaction, AKA the domino effect. Of course the descending materials would increase the weight bearing down on each level as it falls. That’s physically logical to assume, but would the one hundred plus floors complete their fall, seamlessly, without slowing their descent, on any side—nor sections of the structure tipping away from it’s center point? with not one, but two towers? I would expect not. I would expect to see at least one of the towers eventually stop crumbling, if a side of one floor got out of sync with the other four sides falling.
Considering the locations on the tower where both planes struck, neither were centered on the target. The planes penetrated the towers off center, which would place them nearer to one corner of the structure, obviously. Accepting the explanation that the burning fuel from the aircraft was hot and plentiful enough to melt the building’s iron supports, wouldn't the support beams closer to the flames have failed before the others? But we’re supposed to believe that the floor’s supports fail at precisely the same time causing the buildings to descend in the manor that they did. Now, add to it the fact that the second tower’s fate was a carbon copy of the first one to fall, casts doubt on the physical probability of the phenomenon, in my mind.
I’m not a physicist, and because we haven’t experienced an attack of this nature prior to this one, nor after, with all the ingredients and the observed results, it’s reasonable give some benefit of doubt before condemning it as an internally orchestrated attack. I do believe there’s room for scrutiny, however.
I’ve contemplated physicist’s explanations, as well as I was able to comprehend them. I’m still skeptical. I can’t prove it, but there have been people in high places before 9/11 that were highly influenced by evil entities, who perpetrated the darkest of deeds upon the human race. I have plenty of reasons to believe it ended not with them.
Then there was the questionable aftermath images of the attack on the Pentagon building and the government not releasing any footage of the plane contacting the building. It seemed odd to me that a plane colliding into its walls would cause those results. It appeared closer to what a missile strike would look like, to my eyes. I didn’t see material evidence of a plane that I could recognize. Would the entire airliner disintegrate, leaving no larger recognizable evidence of the craft? The available images of the aftermath, from an airliner strike to an enforced structure such as the Pentagon, seems unlikely, but I wasn’t there to closely inspect the scene. What’s more, it’s quite a coincidence that the west block of the building, where the contact was made, happened to be under renovation leaving the entire section virtually vacant. None of the 23 people killed, were high ranking officials.
A final point of irony—the complete destruction of two of the most important buildings in the world of international business and trading. Virtually everything contained within them is gone. One can imagine the level of corruption that transpired within those former walls. Speaking from my spiritual and visual sense, something is out of kilter with the events connected to the day of September 11, 2001.
Allow me do a brief synopsis of other examples.
The Bundy Ranch and the Branch Davidians standoffs. In the Bundy’s case, they surprised the Feds when they decided to protest the long arm of the government, to the extent that they did, over a constitutional issue regarding the ranch’s rightful use of public land, for the grazing of their cattle. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for law enforcement and I support its personnel, but Federal and local governing abuses can not be tolerated. They are servants to the people—not the reverse.
In the second account, armed with an unsubstantiated accusation of child abuse, the Feds pressed forward with self justification for an escalating display of authority. The Davidian chapter ended in an unnecessary infernal fate and multiple gunshot wounds to the inhabitants. Regardless of the details, laws, or social judge’s opines, this commune of people were not a direct threat to surrounding civilians, let alone the government. Tragically, the ugly outcome should never have happened. It appeared to me to be another case of overreaching authority by the United States government and their over inflated egos in response toward opposing citizens. I’m not making a case for the Davidian’s defiance of laws and ordinances. Citizens should adhere to those if they’re not morally corrupt and unconstitutional. Certainly, this saga should have ended in a peaceful solution—not a provocatively violent final act.
What might we discern here? The presence of an evil entity’s influence should be obvious in my examples. In addition, the latter two incidents, where the government didn’t like getting less than they demanded, were also compelled to save face as a powerful force to be reckoned with. They chose to inflict harm as a form of punishment on their “misbehaving children” as a display of their “parental” authority and to make an example of the “juvenile delinquents.” Analogically, it wasn’t an application of a dad’s righteous discipline—it was parental abuse. Both resulted in deaths on the side of the opposing parties. There is room for debate concerning the evidence presented in the aforementioned events, but not the sad outcomes.
My intent is not to sway your perceptions of these occurrences, without firsthand knowledge. I am as fallible as any believer could be. It is my intent to inspire you to seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and use tools you’ve been given for discerning the truth, or probable facts, over and above what you are told to believe by men. Occasionally, you might be mistaken. That can occur when pride and ego enter the scene. Be patient with, dwell on, and pray about, your skepticism.
Keep in mind; confirmation will come—someday—one way—or the other.
The gift of discernment—do you want it?
